The employees of Youth Progress Association comprise a diverse group of highly qualified and experienced individuals. There are individuals from the AA/NA community, recent college graduates, Masters level and Doctorate level Clinicians, and an overall wealth of experience working with adolescents.

Both professional and non-professional staff are involved in program development and modification. Each Youth Progress Association program works as a team to ensure that our clients are receiving effective and supportive services. In-house trainings as well as off-site conferences are offered frequently in order to keep all staff educated about the best ways to support the changing needs of our clients.

Job Description:    Youth Progress Association is currently recruiting responsible, mature adults to provide safe, temporary homes for youth aged 13-25 who are enrolled in our independent living/transition programs. You will provide housing, supervision, transportation and structure while the youth work on issues such as addiction, safe behavior, education and employment. All youth attend our on-site programs Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Work with a team of experienced child-care professionals who coordinate youth's treatment, education, employment and social skills goals. Youth in our programs have medical and dental coverage and also receive weekly counseling services.

On-Call Life Skills Trainers

Position Requirements:  Bachelors Degree in a Social Services field preferred, or 2 years experience working in direct service with youth. A clean driving record, current valid Oregon or Washington State drivers license and ability to pass a DHS criminal background check are a conditions of employment.

Job Description:    Main duties include supervision of milieu safety and activity of clients. De-escalation, Motivational Interviewing, enforcing program rules and policies, redirecting criminal thinking, and documenting services are a part of the daily routine. This is a child care position and requires the ability to lift 25lbs, frequent sitting and standing, an proficiency in computer based email, scheduling and word processing applications.
